Blog - Good Reasons to Create One
March 9th, 2010
One man’s blog can be immensely enjoyable, and can also earn him money. And yet you might be asking “Why have a blog? Why not a website? Which one is the better choice?” To answer this question let’s compare the features you can expect from each.
1. Expense
Any good website will cost you. But even supposing you can get someone to design a site for you and charge nothing, it still has to be hosted at a cost of $10 - $20 minimum per year. A blog on the other hand can be free of cost.
2. Getting on the Internet
Setting up a website can be time consuming, and require special skills. A blog however, can be created quickly and easily. The technique is simple, and can be done simply by filling in some basic information; and it’s designed to be easily achievable by just about anyone. One mans blog can be created in under a half-hour by just about anyone, and yet be every bit as fine as any first rate website.
A good website can take one to four weeks to set up. However, you can create an excellent blog in less than 30 minutes!
3. Making money
A website may be a good way to generate some spending money through the marketing of products or services. A blog can do likewise, and just as well provided it is marketed well. Any one man’s blog will compare favorably with a website of comparable quality.
4. Aesthetics
You can have lots of interesting effects on a website such as videos and animation. Your blog spot by comparison may not be able to include all the high-tech stuff, though it has enough to put up a good show. It would seem that one man’s blog spot may be less good looking, but every bit as effective.
5. Maintaining and promoting
A blog may be continuously updated with fresh content. It’s clear that blogging can draw in more traffic than a website assuming the same effort is put into each. Continuous updates can more easily be appended to a blog than to a website.
So in a way, a blog performs its own self- promotion, since whenever fresh content is posted it is re-indexed by the search indents. Conversely promoting a website demands a great deal of time and effort to produce traffic.

It’s still very worthwhile to create a blog|To create a blog is a sensible thing to do even if you already have a website}. It’s not at all unusual to find one man’s website supported by various blogs that have been created to focus traffic toward the website.
Blogging can also be very enjoyable since you can share your pictures and experiences and it won’t cost you a cent. A lot of people who initially began with a website after a time moved to blogging because it’s easy, can be done at no cost, and gives you the opportunity to upgrade it continuously.
The question therefore should not be “Why have a blog?” but instead “What reason is there to not have a blog?” With so many benefits it would be foolish for anyone not to take advantage of blogging.
